Happy Day!

Today my friends Scott and Ashley got married. Scott has been my college minister since my freshman year (my first year in Denton was his first year also). Ashley and Scott are such a fantastic couple who are just walking towards the Lord together, glorifying Him in all that they do.

It was such a wonderful ceremony, so focused on Christ and such a beautiful worship experience. Everything a wedding should be. The reception was a blast... they're such a sweet couple and their fun nature just shined through out the whole day!

God is love and love is real.

I am just in constant awe of the Lord… of His endless love and abundant grace. I am His.

I am falling more in love with God every day. I feel so at peace when immersed in His word, or quietly conversing with Him in prayer. I feel joy… not fleeting happiness, but infinite and fulfilling joy. I know I am growing in my relationship with Him, and I pray that my love for Christ and for people will grow evermore.

Also, I cannot thank God enough for the brothers and sisters in Christ that He has so delicately and purposefully placed in my life in order to just lift me up in encouragement and immerse me in God-given wisdom. Blessed – I am thoroughly blessed.

I really wouldn't mind moving to New York City to teach kids. I think I would need them more than they could ever need me.

What this teacher has done with "at-risk" children in NYC is inspirational. These kids are so full of passion and joy. My heart has melted.

"The PS22 Chorus is not a middle, intermediate, or high school group. It is comprised of about 60 public elementary school fifth graders from New York City."

Sweet Summer Day!

I've only been away from my friends for less than 2 weeks and I already desperately miss everyone. I got to see a handful of them to celebrate Summer's birthday on Wednesday (minus little Miss Maycie, why does she have to live 6 hours away?!).

Shea is awesome and put together a surprise party for Summer. We definitely surprised her... she cried (good tears!) when we all popped out and surprised her after work. It was precious. I just love her so much and am so thankful for all the sunshine she brings to our lives!

I love Summer; the person and the season.

Changes.

Today is move-out day at Bruce Hall, which has been my home for the past two years. It's a bittersweet goodbye. Packing away all my things is very surreal. I have grown so much here and have made the most amazing and life-changing friendships I could have ever asked for. Being a RA here has shaped me to become a leader, the kind of leader filled with compassion for people. I've always been so inspired by all the people who live here and I will desperately miss the creative atmosphere of this dorm. It's time for a change, but I know that Bruce will always have a piece of my heart.

Dave Matthews Band Concert - Wahoo!

Last weekend Liz, Maycie and I got to enjoy The Avett Brothers and Dave Matthews Band in the pouring rain. It was an eventful day full of scary weather/driving, yummy cheesecake and relaxation/giggles...

God has blessed me with true friendship. I am so thankful.
